Academics
A higher qualification (HND/Bachelors) in any science or engineering discipline.

Work Experience
Minimum of 12 years working as a field operations/Maintenance support, technician or permit coordinator in an oil and gas producing field location.
Work experience in GBARAN-UBIE or any SPDC location would be an added advantage.

Skills
• Experience in the operation of Field Instrumentation, Process, and safety-critical shutdown valves.
• Knowledgeable in the utilization and navigation of distributed control systems (Delta-V DCS) and SIS (HIMA) systems
• Experience in the management of process isolations to support maintenance activities.
• Experience in the utilization of process engineering flow schemes (PEFS) and process drawings.
• Knowledgeable in well integrity management requirements (installation, fault analysis and function testing of various components and seals)
• Experience in the management of Permit-to-work systems.
• Basic Knowledge of the PI System
• Experience in oil & gas wellhead operations and troubleshooting skills.
• A good understanding of the working principles of field instrumentation and process automation systems.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Soft Skills (Added advantage)
• Strong Communication & interpersonal relationship skills
• Proficiency in Onsite risk management.
• Proficiency in the use of MS Tools and SAP.
• Self-motivated and performs under minimal supervision.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Senior Supervisor will be responsible for the following:
• Lead a team of operators to deliver routine and non-routine production operations tasks in a live oil and gas plant.
• Lead daily Start of Shift communications and handover.
• Supervise daily monitoring and logging of process parameters and lead the execution of first-line maintenance of critical equipment.
• Support emergency response management activities per delegated ER roles.
• Ensure performance assurance and proactive health checks are executed on critical equipment per approved routines.
• Access and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID); Cause and Effects Matrix (C&E); Process Flow Scheme (PFS); Functional Logic Diagram (FLD); Instrument Loop Drawings (ILD) and Process Engineering Flow Scheme (PEFS) to support safe activity execution.
• Work closely with service Contractor(s) towards safe delivery of vendor-based/specialist maintenance activities.
• Promotes site safety and continuous hazard identification, mitigation, and close-out.
• On-the-job coaching to transfer necessary technical skills to other technicians.
• Prepare daily production reports for DPR.
• Perform permit issuance roles as per SPDC PTW procedure.
• Monitor, control and record production rates and performance.
• Start-up wells and facilities (hot and cold start).
• Participate in the console review meetings, Daily notifications and YTT review meetings.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance interventions plant isolation etc.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to execute planned activities.
• Prepare the wells and facilities/equipment for (re) commencement of production/processing.
• Perform monthly well tests and sampling of producing wells.
• Perform periodic well integrity assurance tasks and activities.
• Supervise preparation of equipment for maintenance including isolation, draining, steaming, and other procedures as required.
• Integrate with other disciplines to achieve Asset integrity on a continuous basis.
• Other assignments for continuous improvements as exigent.

Work Cycle
• The work location is a land production facility (Gbaran Ubie integrated Gas plant) accessible via land and Air.
• The job activity period is daily on a 12-hour (7 am to 7 pm) routine over 21 days.
• Work is Port Harcourt based and you may be required to attend courses in Shell IA PHC or other PHC locations as advised as well as other official assignments.
• There is a standard 3weeks on and 3weeks off schedule.
• The successful candidate will manage their absences with his/her contractor for suitably qualified covers.
• Personnel may be required to work extended hours as the need arises.
