Role/Job FIELD OPERATIONS SERVICES _OTUMARA NODE
Academics Minimum WAEC or equivalent
Age < 60 years.
Start Date 1st March 2025

Work Experience
Minimum 4 to 8yrs hands-on experience as an Operations Support, Field Operations Technician or CRO in an Oil and Gas-producing field.
Must have at least five (5) years’ experience in Otumara Node Operations.

Key Skills

• Handling crude export operations liaising with multi-disciplines.
• Accurately calculate export volumes, process export documentation, interface with regulators and Government Agents.
• Operate Delta DCS, Oil Saver Pit System, Export Pumps, Air Compressor and GTC etc.
• Facility safety enforcement including Risk identification/mitigation, work crew communication and buddy system.
• Knowledge in safe work practices and use of SOPs.
• Experience in field Control and safeguarding systems (pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic) operations including sensors, transmitters, actuators and valves.
• Interpretation of process engineering flow schemes and process drawings.
• Shell-certified Authorized gas tester.
• Shell certified Designated First Aider.

Roles and Responsibilities
Operator of Oil and gas assets in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with stipulated guidelines.
• Manage day-to-day production operations field activities and manage safety and environmental issues.
• Monitor and record production rates and performance.
• Optimized effluent quality of produced water for environmentally safe discharge.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on wells and facilities to ensure stability.
• Perform daily First Line Monitoring (FLM) of process variables/parameters.
• Ensure optimized chemical injection rates are followed as advised.
• Observe local instruments, gauges, and meters to verify conformance to standard operating practice.
• Responsible for preparing equipment for maintenance including isolation, draining, and other procedures as required.
• Execute routine production operations and minor non-routine production activities as directed by Team Supervisor.
• Perform daily check and minor maintenance based on the check list etc.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team on assigned tasks and activities.
• Take requested samples for Lab analyses.
• Participate in monthly HSSE-SP meeting and daily toolbox meeting
• Carry out Inlet manifold pressure checks.
• Collect wellhead fluid sample of flowing strings.
• Report unsafe act and unsafe condition (UA/UC).
• Perform periodic well integrity assurance tasks and activities.
• Bean inspection/change out and Bean inventory management.
• Good knowledge of Ensure Safe production (ESP) – Proactive monitoring and alarm management.

 

Work Cycle

• Successful candidate will hit the ground running working on a mix of equipment most over two decades old with less OEM support but on gradual upgrade.
• The work location is Otumara Node based in West Shell Facilities accessible via Air or Water.
• The job activity period is daily on 12-hour (7am to7pm) routine over a 21-day period.
• There is a standard 3-weeks on and 3-weeks off schedule.
• The successful candidate will manage own absences with his/her contractor for suitable qualified covers.
• The successful candidate is expected to be Port Harcourt/Warri based
• There may be need for periodic visits to Shell industrial area for trainings and official assignments.
• Personnel may be required to work extended hours / days as need may arises.
